The major factors that determine the quality of each diamond are the “4 C’s”: Clarity: the clearness of a diamond; Colour: the amount of colour the diamond contains; Cut: the proportions, symmetry and finish of the diamond; and Carat: the weight of the diamond. Clogau Gold diamonds are near colourless and of superb quality. They only have very small inclusions which are visible under a 10X loupe.
Our diamonds exist in either of two cuts: the classic brilliant cut, which has been perfected to generate the maximum radiance possible and the most important cut of the modern era: the beautiful princess cut. The brilliant cut, which has a total of 58 facets, creates the most intense sparkle and flash of colour. The fire, brilliance and concentration of the prismatic colours emitted directly depend on the proper cutting and proportioning of the diamond.
The princess cut is the most important new cut or shape for diamonds since the perfection of the brilliant cut. It is effectively a square version of the round brilliant cut. Because of the extra faceting, and the effect it produces, princess cuts are naturally more brilliant and sparkly than ordinary square diamonds.
