In a thrilling opener to the polo season on Sunday, the Wales Polo Team managed to hold onto last seasons unbeaten run by defeating a South America select team at Fonmon Castle, Vale of Glamorgan.

The event, in support of Welsh childrens’ cancer charity Latch, was blessed with sunshine and a great crowd of spectators to give the occasion a great feel to it.

Spectators certainly weren’t disappointed in terms of drama, witnessing a dismounted player during the intensely close match between the two teams.

Wales captain, Ricky Cooper, was pleased with the end result saying that the team is “off to a good start” ahead of the British Beach Polo Championships in Dorset on the 6th and 7th July where the team faces tournament favourites England in the first match.

Well done to the Clogau Wales Polo Team!
