Sonia Menezes, Global Brand Manager for Clogau, has been chosen as one of the 2015 Professional Jeweller Hot 100 – an industry accolade that celebrates the work of 100 leading movers and shakers in the UK jewellery industry.


Menezes, who was named Brand Champion, was credited with developing Clogau’s jewellery collections, creating brand campaigns, expanding work with QVC and continuing to set goals for the business and its staff. Sonia, who joined the team five years ago, is known in the industry for her smiley demeanour and never-give-up attitude.

Clogau, ‘Brand of the Year’ winner at this year’s UK Jewellery Awards, is known for designing jewellery that captures the hearts and imaginations of jewellery lovers far and wide. With collections ranging from rings and pendants to charm bracelets and earrings, every piece created over the past 25 years contains rare Welsh gold mined directly from the Snowdonia mountains.

Describing her achievements this year, Sonia said: “Our 2015 collections have been our most successful by far. I’m delighted with the reaction from trade and consumer press, our retailers and direct customers. Every person within the business is committed to making Clogau a success.”

She was praised by Professional Jeweller magazine, the UK’s foremost business title for the jewellery industry, for her confidence when it came to the huge challenge of growing Clogau’s brand appeal beyond the Welsh borders and for her unwavering cheerful nature.
