14-day money-back returns policy

We offer all of our direct customers (excluding retailers) a 14-day “no quibble” money-back returns policy: if for any reason you are unsatisfied with your Clogau jewellery, you may return it unworn and in its original presentation packaging, and within 14 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange.

Returns, exchanges and repairs

You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the goods when they are in your possession. Our returns policy does not apply to defective or damaged items or items sent to you in error, which are dealt with separately in the “Defective and damaged items” section below.

This returns policy only applies to items purchased via Clogau directly and not from one of our Clogau Compose Retail Partners. Items purchased via an approved Clogau Compose Retail Partner must be returned to its original place of purchase.

A prompt refund of the price of the goods will be issued once all the criteria above are met. The credit card used for the original purchase will be credited with the original price. If there are any problems with your refund, a member of our customer care team will contact you.

For all returns, except where the item is faulty or dispatched in error by us, you will be required to arrange and pay for the return of the products to us. Where the item is faulty or dispatched in error, Clogau will only reimburse returns made within the UK (excluding international) after the item(s) has been assessed by us.

(1.5) When Clogau Compose customers purchase a ring, they receive a ‘Clean, Care, Protect’ card which acts as the warranty document that they need to keep up to date by sending their ring back to us annually to get it checked to keep the warranty valid.

(2.0) When registering for Extended Warranty online at, confirmation of registration will be provided to you.

(3.0) The warranty covers Clogau Compose jewellery manufacturing faults, (3.1) Clogau reserves the right to determine the validity and nature of each warranty claim. (3.2) Should your jewellery prove defective within two years, at our discretion, you will be entitled to (3.3) a repair free of charge or a replacement with: (3.4) the same item or (3.5) replacement with a succeeding item if the returned item has been discontinued or (3.6) an exchange for an item of the value stated on the receipt or (3.7) a credit to the purchase value stated on the receipt. (3.15)

(4.0) If your warranty covered item has been repaired by Clogau, you do not need to re-register for warranty, as the original cover still applies.

(5.0) Clogau Compose jewellery bears unique hallmarks and marks. Without these marks the warranty is void.

*(6.0) Refund on an item not directly purchased from Clogau must be addressed to the point of sale of the approved Clogau Compose Retail Partner from where the item was originally purchased.

Clogau Compose engagement rings are bespoke items, made-to-order and as such have a lead time of between 2 – 7 weeks. Your Clogau Compose Retail Partner will be able to confirm the lead time for your specific bespoke ring depending on the combinations and variations you choose. We will use all reasonable endeavours to deliver the goods within the times indicated. However, where delivery times and dates are given, they are for general guidance only and we will not be held liable for late delivery of goods caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

It is currently not possible to purchase Clogau Compose engagement and wedding rings outside of the UK.

All Clogau Compose engagement and wedding rings are hand polished and finished. All diamonds are hand selected for purity and colour. Diamond weights quoted are the average carat weight per piece and the primary stone in engagement rings is specified as such and is supplied with a GIA certificate to guarantee its status, unless otherwise indicated and this weight can fluctuate upwards only.

Clogau have carefully selected three colour choices for customers to choose from for their diamonds; D is our best; G is very close to the best and I is for those on a tighter budget who still want a beautiful and white diamond. Diamonds are graded from FL (flawless) to I3 (not recommended). When Clogau Compose customers start composing their ring they can choose from SI1 (slightly included), VS2 (very slightly included) and VS1 (very slightly included, Clogau’s best) diamonds. The ideal carat weight for an engagement ring will depend on the size of the wearers’ finger and their budget. All diamonds used on Clogau Compose rings are good cut proportions and as such will achieve a wonderful sparkle and brilliance.

For every item containing multiple diamonds, we list the average weight of the diamonds in the shank as well as the primary stone in engagement rings which comes with a GIA certificate to guarantee its status. Where we state the total diamond carat weight, this may vary plus 0.05 carats only from the weight stated. Clogau is committed to offering high-quality diamonds. We share the public’s concern regarding conflict-free diamonds and we only purchase diamonds which comply completely with the Kimberley Process requirements.

The beauty of Clogau Compose fine jewellery is that each piece is designed to the finest detail to really capture the essence of the story behind it. For example a wedding ring is designed to be worn every day and can cope with hard wear and tear; on the other hand a delicate engagement ring will not fare as well if subjected to the same wear as a wedding ring. It is also important to remember that harsh chemicals will affect all jewellery if regularly exposed to it. All fine jewellery, metal and diamond rings must be worn with care and if expected to last a life time should be removed when undertaking manual tasks such as gardening. All settings and diamonds should be checked on an annual basis as part of the Clogau ‘Clean, Care, Protect’ warranty agreement.

All measurements and weights are approximate and have been rounded up or down to the nearest quarter-inch, centimetre, millimetre or gram. While every effort has been made to ensure these measurements and weights are correct, Clogau accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever with regard to stated sizes or weights in or Clogau Compose brochure or on our websites,, and Clogau allows a 10% tolerance rate between items. If you are in any doubt about any of the sizes or weights, please either telephone us on 0845 606 88 77, email us on or visit your Clogau Compose Retail Partner.

The description of the goods, services, price, currency, VAT and delivery costs are set out on the order page. The advertising of products and services on this site is an 'invitation to treat'. That means your order is an offer and no contract of sale is formed between you and Clogau until you receive the confirmation of order email. Orders shall be accepted at our sole discretion but are normally accepted once credit card authorisation has been confirmed, the order reflects current pricing and stock levels. When you place an order direct with Clogau, payment is taken immediately at the point of order, whether the item(s) is in stock or not. Once we accept your order, you shall pay the price for the goods or services plus VAT and delivery and other costs specified on the order page and we shall charge your account for payment. Please keep your “confirmation of order” e-mail for your records.

In exceptional circumstances, if we are not able to fulfil an order we have accepted, your credit card will be re-credited with the original price and we will notify you by email. In no circumstances will we be liable to you for any additional amounts.

These terms and conditions cannot be varied except by changes made by Clogau on the site, which we may make from time to time. Proposed changes to the terms and conditions will be notified to you by e-mail or flagged for your attention when you log onto the site for a new session. Your continued use of the site after such notification shall be taken as your full acceptance of such changes. You will only own the goods you purchase once they have been successfully delivered and when we have received cleared payment for them in full. Until that time we will retain title to the goods.

These rings are bespoke and as such made to order. No exchanges can be made unless the goods are deemed faulty or damaged. Should you wish to cancel your order, you must do so with your Clogau Compose Retail Partner with whom you placed your order. Their individual Terms & Conditions may apply.

If you should receive an item you have ordered that is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, please contact your Clogau Compose Retail Partner with whom you placed the order as soon as possible.

Clogau guarantee that all of the diamonds set in our Clogau Compose engagement and wedding rings have been ethically sourced, responsibly crafted, and originate from a conflict free area. Since early 2003, the World Diamond Council has worked successfully with the United Nations and governments from around the world, to introduce a system to prevent trade in conflict diamonds that is known as the Kimberley Process. All of our suppliers operate within the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, and we require written guarantees that the diamonds supplied do not come from other conflict areas. This stringent diamond policy and its certifications are our guarantee that every Clogau Compose selected diamond is ethically sourced and 100% conflict free.

All of our Clogau Compose selected diamonds are GIA® certified. The certificates have been produced by an independent body and they tell us exactly what that diamond is in relation to the four C’s). All customers who invest in a Clogau Compose engagement ring will receive a report from the GIA® which is their assurance of their gemstone’s quality. We will supply you with a copy of the Clogau Compose GIA® certificate. A photograph of the certification on the rings girdle will be stored at Clogau Head Office.

Welsh gold has a history stretching back at least 2,000 years. Prized for its scarcity and origin, it has become one of the most sought-after golds in the world. Within every Clogau Compose engagement and wedding ring is a guaranteed measured amount of Welsh gold taken from the St David’s Gold Mine in Snowdonia, Wales. In November 2014 Clogau Gold of Wales Ltd received a statement from the Edinburgh Assay Office in which they stated that they are satisfied with the quality management processes followed by Clogau Gold of Wales Ltd, and that a pre-determined quantity of Welsh gold is being included in the production of all Clogau items. Verifiable records are kept to provide a clear audit trail to support these assurances. To view a copy of this document in full, please click here.

Every Clogau Compose engagement and wedding ring is accompanied by a warranty to guarantee peace of mind on this important and once in a lifetime purchase. The warranty guarantees that the Clogau Compose diamond you have chosen to be set has been ethically and responsibly sourced and crafted.

Along with the GIA certificate you receive with your ring(s), your Clogau Compose warranty clearly documents all aspects of your purchase including your diamond’s carat weight, total number of diamonds in the ring and shank, as well as the cut, colour and clarity of the primary diamond in your ring. Your warranty also guarantees that rare Welsh gold has been included, ensuring the status of your carefully crafted, bespoke engagement ring as the ultimate heirloom to be treasured forever.
