Saturday May 19th 2018 promises to be a very special day. A Royal Wedding, and the launch of a very special single-cask expression of Forager's Gin to celebrate it.
This 2018 Release of Forager's Clogau Reserve Gin will see just 440 bottles crafted, with only 250 bottles being available to the public.This will also be a big day for Wales, marking the first joint venture between two of Wales' best loved premium brands: Forager's Gin and Clogau.
Snowdonia and North Wales are world renowned for the spring waters that come from this region, that have had further purification from its slow journey through the seams of gold that exist within the Clogau shale.
The 2018 Release of Forager's Clogau Reserve Gin uses six botanicals in total. All native to the mountain and coastline of North Wales.A bespoke ration of botanicals, style of distillation and maceration where put together for this 2018 Release by distiller Chris Marshall.

We’ve always talked about the pure Welsh spring water, filtered through our precious Welsh gold, being the perfect canvas for a luxury spirit. Hydrology plays such an important role in the crafting of a premium gin. I have a penchant for gin and I love the ethos at Forager, their brand vision and goals being so closely aligned to my own. We’ve created an exceptional and exquisite gin that will delight aficionados. I’m delighted with our first venture into the world of high end alcoholic beverages.
Located in North Spain, Rioja region, you will find one of the world's finest wineries: Manzanos wines, owned and run by the Manzanos family.
Their range of award-winning wines is the result of five generations of work, seeing time-tested traditional methods blended seamlessly with cherry-picked modern technology.
Amongst their range is the superb barrel fermented white; Vochce Blanco. Using a masterful blend of viura and chardonnay grapes, including grapes Rioja regions oldest Chardonnay vines, Voche Blanco is a sublime white, with bags of citrus on the nose, and well balance taste stemming from it's six months in oak.
We wanted to create one of the finest gin ranges in the world. From the design and commissioning of our copper still, through to the time intensive foraging for all our botanicals, and long-maceration periods, our ethos is centred on taking our time, never cutting corners, never compromising on quality.
The launch of this very special single-cask expression, created to celebrate the Royal wedding in May 2018, will see only 440 bottles crafted, with a very limited 250 bottles being made available to the public.
The Forager's Clogau Reserve Gin is delicately hand-crafted using selected botanicals indigenous to the Welsh mountains and coastline, including juniper, sea buckthorn, apple, elderberry, gorse flower and heather.
The exclusive expression will see the use of a single, hand-selected, oak cask from one of Northern Spain's finest wineries, combined with pure Welsh mountain waters from the Clogau shale in Snowdonia, naturally filtered through seams of gold. It's a true signature release for those who appreciate the finer things in gin.
Each bottle is individually numbered and packaged in a beautiful display box which is sure to become an in-demand collectors item.
