Home All Jewellery Platinum
Within our many ranges are a small but beautiful selection of luxurious platinum jewellery pieces. Platinum is an extremely rare metal prized for its rarity, durability, strength and its ability to retain a highly lustrous colour that never tarnishes. Unlike gold or silver, platinum is also 95-99% pure. Even the remaining 5% usually consists of other platinum metal groups. Interestingly, platinum exists in higher abundances on the Moon and in meteorites. Its name is derived from the Spanish term platina, which means "little silver". In fact, platinum is sometimes mistaken for silver. Platinum is also used by Royalty. For example, the frame of the Crown of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, manufactured for her coronation as Consort of King George VI, is made of platinum and in fact it was the first British crown to be made of this particular metal. We combine this highly prized and rare metal with one of the most sought-after golds in the world, rare Welsh gold, which has also been used by Royalty for over 100 years.
