Within the space of ten years rose gold jewellery has gone from a little used metal to a must-have jewellery accessory. Today, rose gold is one of the most popular types of jewellery, loved and adored by ladies with a penchant for something slightly different. Here at Clogau, we have been using it from the very start.
Indeed, rose gold was featured in some of the very first pieces we created, long before other jewellery brands started using it.
Virtually all of our collections since then have incorporated this unusual looking gold and it has become one of our hallmarks as a brand.
Interestingly, when we first started to mine Welsh gold in 1990s, it often contained a rose hue which made it look different from other gold. This was because the mine from where it originated, the St. David's Gold Mine in Snowdonia, had originally been a copper mine, and it was being mixed with the gold which gave it a distinctive and very beautiful rose tint.
This inspired us to create jewellery using rose-coloured gold and you'll see it used throughout our ranges. Most of the pieces you see here, however, are created almost entirely from rose gold.
Whether you want a piece to showcase on those special occasions, or perhaps something more subtle to be worn every day, our selection of rose gold jewellery is not only original and distinctive, but it also gives you a lasting connection to Wales and some fascinating Welsh heritage.
