Clogau creates app for gauging ring sizes

Clogau has launched a jewellery app for iPhone and iPad enabling consumers to "discreetly and accurately" check rings sizes using the touch screen of their device. The 69p app is now available to download through to Apple app store and has been tailored to fit against all styles of rings, including engagement rings or wedding bands.

Clogau enjoys record-breaking Christmas sales

Despite the harsh retail climate Clogau enjoyed a golden Christmas with record-breaking sales in November and December. Managing director Ben Roberts told Business Post its network of independent retail stores saw a 30% increase in December, compared to the same period in 2011. Following suit, Clogau’s direct business experienced a 20% uplift (aided particularly by online sales), making it the most successful festive period in the firm’s history.

The world's first consumer online assurance scheme for jewellery has been launched by the Edinburgh Assay Office. The new scheme is a response to the growing problem of fake jewellery being sold over the internet and some retailers have already signed up to the Assay Assured scheme, such as Clogau.
