With pieces made to look like elegantly woven rope, our Forever Yours: Bound collection is inspired by the ancient Celtic tradition of handfasting, a symbolic ritual in which couples’ hands were bound together to represent unity and commitment. Think ‘tying the knot’, but literally.
Within our Forever Yours collection are pieces named after St. Dwynwen, a 5th century Princess who fell in love with a man named Maelon Dafodrill. She prayed to forget him when they were not permitted to marry by her father, and an angel gave her a potion to do so. Broken hearted, Dwynwen became a nun and dedicated her life to the happiness of lovers, settling on Ynys Llanddwyn. She is now remembered as the Welsh patron saint of lovers. St. Dwynwen’s Day, celebrated on the 25th of January, is considered the Welsh Valentine’s Day.
